Everything you need to know about the National 24 Hour Challenge!
Questions, Comments, Suggestions
To all of our riders, crews, volunteers, and National 24 Hour Challenge friends everywhere:
As we face the headwinds of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, we find ourselves living in times of uncertainty and many of you are wondering about this year’s National 24 Hour Challenge. After discussion with the board of directors, here is our commitment to you:
First, we will continue preparing to hold the 2020 National 24 Hour Challenge as scheduled on June 20-21, 2020. Since no one can predict what will happen from day-to-day, let alone what the conditions will be like on June 20-21, 2020, we will spend the next couple of weeks working to identify potential alternative dates for the 2020 National 24 Hour Challenge, should it be necessary to reschedule.
Second, on April 26, we will confirm holding the National 24 Hour Challenge as originally scheduled on June 20-21, 2020, or if necessary, reschedule the event at that time. The health and safety of all concerned has always been our number one priority at the National 24 Hour Challenge. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and be prepared to follow the guidance of health authorities. The board of directors will meet on the evening of April 26 and using the information available at that time make the best decision for all concerned regarding the 2020 National 24 Hour Challenge. We know that many of our riders, crews, and volunteers travel long distances to participate in the National 24 Hour Challenge, so we want you to have sufficient time to confirm or change travel plans as necessary.
Third, you will know as soon as we know should these plans change. If something changes prior to April 26, we will let you know as soon as possible via our webpage, Facebook, Instagram, All About the Challenge, and all registered riders will receive an email from us directly. Otherwise, we will communicate the decision from our April 26 board meeting on April 27 through the same channels.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at National24Hour@gmail.com or call (616) 953-0234. More than ever this year, we thank you for accepting the challenge of the National 24 Hour Challenge!
Gary Goscenski, Executive Director
